Inner Tide Bodywork is now Zeal! Massage
because Zeal! is what I feel about massage!
I became interested in bodywork and adjunct healing methods after a car accident in the early 1990's left my neck in constant pain.
I earned my first certificate in Massage Therapy from the Baltimore School of Massage shortly after that, and embarked on a self-led path of education in nutrition, exercise, and massage.
I returned to school in 2007, and earned a second Massage Therapy certificate from the East West College of the Healing Arts in Portland, Oregon, and completed advanced massage training at the Dr. Vodder School of Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) in 2012. I am a practitioner in the Dr. Vodder method of MLD.
My interests in various modalities led me to complete training in Traditional Thai massage at The Naga Center, Comfort Touch for the elderly and chronically ill, reflexology, & chair massage. In total, I have over 1300 hours of formal massage and bodywork training and over 2500 hours of hands-on massage experience with clients from all walks of life: athletes, expectant mothers, stressed business people, the elderly, and people living with chronic conditions.
My specialty is applying a variety of modalities during each massage session, tailored to individual needs and desires. Each session is a unique, intelligent combination of techniques to address acute pain, chronic pain, limited range of motion, edema, stress, mental fatigue, and muscle strain. In addition to these modalities, I can incorporate aromatherapy, hot stones, reflexology, or a relaxing foot scrub to fully customize your bodywork session.
